Player Spotlight: Joey Vollaro (February 2022)

We are pleased to announce Joey Vollaro (Class of 2023) as our February 2022 Player Spotlight!

Now in his junior year, Vollaro (6-2, 175lb) currently features an effective three-pitch mix with good speed differentials

The below averages were measured during @pbrnewyork event held last month:

Fastball: 82.7 mph (max 84.8 mph)
Changeup: 74.7 mph
Curveball: 67.7 mph

Currently in his third year of the Top Gun Pitching Program, Vollaro is determined to continue building on those numbers while playing varsity baseball for the Beacon High School Bulldogs. At the plate, he’s put up a solid max distance of 321 feet to go with a max exit velocity of 87.5 mph

Vollaro was also a part of the 16U Stars team that won gold coached by our very own Coach Angel Lugo at the 2021 16U NTIS Champions Cup at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, NC
